About Me

My name is Fanda Amnesiana, the owner of this website. Asthma and allergy are always familiar words for me. I have allergy, which I got hereditary from my mother, to some foods : chicken and egg, as well as to dust mites. My mother also has allergy, which can sometimes turn to asthma attack.

I remember when I was a child –around 6-7 years old—I was playing at another room when my mother had her asthma attack (that was the first asthma attack I've ever saw in my life!). My family and I live in Indonesia, and on very hot days, we usually take cold ice drink to freshen up ourselves. Well, at that day my mother, who actually knows that she is allergic to ice, drank some fruit-crushed-ice as she thought ‘having few sips of the fruit ice is OK, just to fresh up a little’. But, you might have already known that taking even a little substance that you are allergic to, can trigger an asthma attack.

So, there was my mother, suddenly had a breathing difficulty after few sips of the drink. She tried to call my father, but no voice could get out of her mouth. After few minutes, my father found my mom in that condition, and then brought her to the hospital. Later on my mom told me that it was the most terrifying moments of her life. Nothing is more scaring than knowing that you could not breathe. That makes us appreciate very much fresh air and our healthy lungs to breathe it!

Well, that experience actually encouraged me to create this website, besides the fact that I also got allergic after my 25th birthday. I dedicate this website to my loving mother, a strong woman who always want to dedicate herself to her husband and daughter in her own way, despite of her disease and uncomfortable conditions that she must often carry with her entire life.

I also want to inspire people with allergy and, especially asthma, that we should not give up to our conditions. We must learn and learn again about our disease (mostly an hereditary condition we cannot avoid), and try everything we could to live normally, to give love and being loved by our families. And last but not least, I urge people with asthma to inspire other persons in the whole world, your friends or families, to share the same interest, to fight asthma together!

Best regards,

Fanda
