Your Children Away From Cockroach Allergy?
Cockroach allergy
is one of the most dangerous allergies for children, as it usually

From the
study of
National Institutes of Health, it revealed that children who live in
inner-city home environments and in vertical building (apartments) have
the biggest chance to get cockroach allergy.

Cockroach
allergy comes from faces, saliva, eggs and cuticles of
cockroach. Even if we don’t see any cockroach at a time, it
doesn’t mean that your children can be free from cockroach
allergy, while their faces are still all around the house (it
can stays after weeks). Cockroaches can live all over the world,
from tropical areas to the coldest spots on earth. Studies had
showed that 78 percent to 98 percent of urban homes have
cockroaches. When you see one cockroach, there is big
possibility that there are hundreds of them live and hide in
every corners all around your house!

Cockroach Allergy Symptoms
Children who tested
positive for, and were exposed to cockroach allergen, will
experience a significant increase in the number of days with
cough, wheezing and chest tightness, number of nights with
interrupted sleep, number of missed school days, and number of
times they had to slow down or discontinue their play
activities. In some cases where the allergy becomes stronger,
cockroach allergy can also induce asthma attack.
How to handle
cockroach allergy?

Get rid of
cockroaches at your house! But do not do it by yourselves,
you will need a pest control expert to terminate all the
cockroaches.

Do not leave food,
waste, or garbage uncovered. Keep your food always in a
covered/sealed container.

Cockroach likes
water, therefore fix immediately leaking faucets, and
prevent water condensation on pipes.

Improve your house
ventilation, and use dehumidifier to eliminate damp areas.

Seal any cockroach
access and entry points.

Use poison
baits, boric acid and traps, instead of chemical agents, as
it might trigger your asthma.

If
cockroach allergy has attack you, antihistamines, nasal
sprays, decongestants, leukotriene inhibitors, and allergen
immunotherapy (allergy shots) may help relieving the
symptoms.

But if you
have asthma, ask your doctor to prescribe bronchodilator.
To sum up, keep
your house always clean and dry. This will reduce the chance of
cockroach colony live enjoyably in your house! |
