How To Prevent Dust Mites Allergy

To prevent dust mites allergy, you have to keep the whole house always clean, not only the bedroom of the dust mites allergy patient!. These are tips you can use to control dust mites allergy:

Bedroom

As we spend most of our time in bed (we sleep normally 8 hours = 30% of our life everyday), manage your bedroom by doing these...

  • Wash the bedsheet, pillows and blankets periodically with min. 60C hot water to kill the dust mites, at least twice a week.

  • Or, for alternative you can use a special free-allergy cover made of microporous breathable material to cover bed and pillows from direct contact with dust mites allergy patient. Provide one complete set including pillow, duvet and mattress cover, otherwise it won’t work effectively.

  • Periodically vacuum-clean the bed, as well as carpet, curtains, couches or chairs with cloth-covers. Use allergy-free high efficient vacuum cleaner with less than 0,3 micrometer filter.

  • Minimize the furniture in the bedroom, place only some that you really require. Clean them everyday with wet cloth or vacuum cleaner. Don’t forget every narrow spaces behind cupboard, sofa, under the bed, etc.

  • Avoid bed with canopy, as the dust mites will keep falling down right on you!

  • Don’t forget to vacuum-clean the carpet frequently using high efficient vacuum cleaner.

Kids toys

Kids toys that are made from soft fabrics such as teddy bears are what you might alert to.

  • Minimize that kind of toys in the house.

  • Ask your children to choose only one that he/she likes the most, and can play with it all the time.

  • This favorite toy must be cleaned up frequently using minimum 60C boiled water.

  • If your children want to keep it in the bedroom, put it in a sealed plastic box.

Fabrics

  • Put out everything that is fabrics covered from your bedroom, or at least keep it in a sealed plastic box.
