Food Allergy And Socializing Problems

Food allergy can sometimes bring some problems in our socialization
. Let’s say you are allergic to wheat, and get invited to an office party or perhaps to a family dinner by your neighbors. You come, but unsure whether the foods served are wheat free or not. You have no other choice than asking directly to your hostess.

Do you have any interesting health information or article that is related to asthma or allergy? You can publish it here with 2-3 links back to your site. Just contact me using the Contact Me page!

Well, it looks simple, but the result is not always satisfying. Either your neighbor get upset with your questioning them, or they don’t even know the contents of the food supplies they use to cook the dishes. It’s only one of the most problems you could get into. Not mentioning dining out at restaurants and arranging meals while you are traveling.

By far, what you could do is contacting the restaurant manager or travel bureau or hotel manager where you will be eating at, days before your arrival. You should explain them your food allergy situation, what kind of allergic that you have, what kind of food that is dangerous for you, and perhaps how severe your asthma attack is when you are exposed to the allergen. The last part could convince the authorized people to give more attention to your situation and your needs.

But still, you cannot just rely our health on those people. They might not have much concern to your problem, or the worst case, they are very sure they have served the food without the dangerous substance, however they don’t realize that they have used a new food supplier who might not free from the dangerous substance.

So, the best thing to do is always bring your own food supplies when you are traveling. Or, when you are invited to a party or to a dining at the restaurant, you can have your meal at home before going to the event. If you think that the last choice would keep you away from socializing, you could bring your own snack, and eat it together with the others while enjoying the socializing.

Anyhow, having food allergy does give you some difficult times, however once you can accept that condition, you will see that you can still enjoy your live even with food allergy!
