How To Live Normally With Asthma

This is probably a question many people has been asking for a long time. Yes, in the past, asthma was one of the most dangerous diseases that can lead to death. My late aunty suffered from asthma for almost her entire life, and she finally given away her young ages when she passed away at her seventeen years of age. However, now science has been growing, and with a good asthma management, everyone with asthma can enjoy their life normally. These are several wrong myths that you must learn about asthma...

Asthma patient can’t have physical activities

This is the most myths that many asthma patient or parents with asthmatic children believe. The truth is, not only that they CAN do normal activities, but asthmatic people should also participate in sports, dancing or fitness more actively. As long as you control your asthma, you can do any activities just like non asthmatic people.

Death risk of asthma

Again, asthma can lead a patient to death, however the case is very rare nowadays. Therefore, you must not worry about patient’s health. You don’t have to be over-protective about your children. Stress and panics will block your focus to proactive steps to treat asthma. When treated well, asthma won’t turn into a dangerous condition.

Once cured, asthma won’t attack again

After having hospitalized after an asthma attack, a patient might think that he is now healthy and strong, and he won’t need his medication anymore, as his asthma will never attack again. This is wrong! Asthma is a chronic disease, and airways infection can happen anytime. It is very important to keep controlling the health condition related to asthma. You can do it with an asthma diary. By having a thorough control, you can avoid another hard asthma attack in the future.

Asthma is caused by stress and high emotion level

Asthma is a disease that affected your lungs, because of an airways inflammation and broncho-constriction. It’s not caused by stress, however stress and emotion can trigger your asthma or even worsen it. When you get stressed about your children’s health, they will also get stressed, said a research. Something relaxing is good for this condition, however please remember that relaxation only reduces stress, it does not cure the airways inflammation.

By understanding more about asthma, we can manage our health, and have a normal life with asthma.
