How Children Misuse Inhaler For Asthma

Inhaler is one of the simplest tools for asthma medication. Inhaler is very handy, easy to use, and work very quickly to release asthma symptoms. However, you must realize that your children might not fully understand the right way of using inhaler for asthma medication. Asthma could attack your children anywhere at anytime, and it is most probably when they are away from you.

Do you have any interesting health information or article that is related to asthma or allergy? You can publish it here with 2-3 links back to your site. Just contact me using the Contact Me page!

These are several misuses that children often do with inhaler for asthma, especially MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler),

  • Do not fully exhale before pushing the inhaler

  • Do not inhale through mouth while pushing the inhaler

  • Do not inhale deeply and slowly

  • Do not hold or push the inhaler correctly when your child start inhaling

  • Stop inhaling while still pushing the inhaler

  • Push more than once for every inhalation

  • Do not hold the breath for 10 seconds after inhalation

Check again whether your children have done all the inhalation procedure correctly, as this will help the inhaler for asthma to work efficiently. And with all the new models of inhalers, you might need to ask the doctor who prescribed it, or people from the pharmacist to demo the utilization of your new inhaler for asthma, before your children use it.
