Mold
Allergy is an allergic reaction to molds spores, which are inhaled
by human into the lungs. If you have allergy symptoms all the seasons,
most likely you’ve got mold allergy! Mold can grow either inside or
outside the house, and can live in all season, but on most country with
four season, mold has its peak population during late summer until early
autumn.
About Molds

Unlike
pollen, molds may persist after
the first killing frost. Some can grow at subfreezing temperatures,
but most become dormant. However, molds that grow indoors can cause
mold allergy even in the coldest climates.

Molds live and grow in
rotten vegetables, garbage pails, compost pails, certain grasses and
weeds, or any other places where there are moisture, oxygen, and a
source of the few other chemicals they need.

Inside the house, molds
are often found in warm, damp and dark places like corners of
kitchen, basement, bathroom, or other rooms with bad ventilation.

Molds can be found also in
fermented foods, such as vinegar, yeast, soy sauce, etc.

From
many types of molds, there are several of them that cause mold
allergy. Some of them include
Alternaria and
Cladosporium (Hormodendrum) are the most common ones, besides
Rhizopus, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Helmin thosporium, Epicoccum,
Fusarium, Mucor, and Aureobasidium (Pullularia).
Mold Allergy
The symptoms of mold allergy
are similar to other airborne allergies, including sneezing, itching,
stuffy nose, congestion and dry, rash, hives. When you got above
symptoms, diagnose your allergy using skin prick test.
If the test showed that you
have mold allergy, then you can start your new habits to avoid the mold
allergy. These are lists of things you can do,

Pay attention to
ventilation and lighting of every room in your house. Put an
exhaust fan, or let windows in your bathroom opened.

Reduce the
humidity in the house. Keep it below 45 degrees, or 35
degree is the best.

Avoid food or food
sources that is more likely to contain molds/fungi :

Dried fruits such as dates, prunes, figs, and raisins

Cheese
-
Mushrooms
-
Vinegar and foods containing vinegar, such as salad
dressing, catsup, and pickles
-
Sour cream, sour milk, and buttermilk
-
Soy sauce
-
Meat or fish more than 24 hours old
-
Breads and other food made with yeast
-
Sauerkraut
-
Pickled and smoked meats and fish
-
Hot dogs, sausages
-
Canned juice
-
Avoid contact with mold spores by doing grass cutting (wear
a mask if you must do it!)

Use
air conditioning system with HEPA filter .
It will help trap
spores before they reach you. Air conditioning with a HEPA
filter attached works better than electrostatic air-cleaning
devices and much better than freestanding air cleaners.

Control your house
indoor moisture by using a dehumidifier. Find many choices

Repair immediately
any plumbing leaks, blocked drains and water seepage through
walls.

Throw away old
books, newspaper, clothing or bedding.
