What Causes Asthma ?

Finding Out 2 Major Causes of Asthma So That You Can Prevent It Or Decide The Best Medication

What causes asthma ? What makes asthma a more complicated than any other ailments ?

That’s because there are too many aspects that can cause asthma.

There are 2 major types of asthma which you should know:

Extrinsic Asthma

Extrinsic asthma is the most common type of asthma. It is caused by allergic reaction to certain asthma inducer that does not give any effects to healthy people. Extrinsic asthma is usually hereditary ailment. Every human are born with natural immune system that protect his body from external attack. This immune system will produce antibody when virus attacks, and will fight to ‘kick out’ the virus. In the fighting process, the body gives signals or symptoms such as cold and mucus production.

If you suffer this extrinsic asthma type, when an allergen that causes the extrinsic asthma enters your body, your immune system will produce antibody that is called IgE (Immunoglobulin E). IgE in huge quantity will trigger a reaction : release of a chemical substance called histamine. After your lungs released histamine, your airways will get stretched, mucus production will increase, and … you got asthma.

Unlike extrinsic asthma, intrinsic asthma does not react to allergen. This type of asthma is usually caused by some asthma trigger such as stress, infection, exercise (overdone-sport) and environment condition such as weather, temperature, and pollution. Asthma intrinsic is related to the decreases of your health condition. It affects mostly people with bad lungs health history such as bronchitis and pneumonia, and also people with diabetes mellitus. Adult beyond the age of 30 are the common patients of intrinsic asthma.
