Wheat Allergy & Gluten Allergy

four proteins that is contained in wheat, they are :
albumins,
globulins, prolamins and glutelins (or gluten). So, gluten is one of the
protein that is contained in wheat, which is difficult to digest by some
people, and that’s why becomes the predominant allergen in wheat.
Besides in wheat, gluten is also found in
rye, barley and oats.
Actually, wheat allergy and gluten allergy is slightly different. Gluten
allergy is known as celiac/coeliac disease/celiac sprue, an auto-immune
disorder. People with celiac disease will not lose their sensitivity to
gluten substance, and that’s why requires a lifelong restriction of
gluten. While people with wheat allergy have an IgE-mediated response to
wheat protein. They must only avoid wheat.
Foods With Wheat & Gluten Contents
Before buying food products
for people with wheat allergy and gluten allergy, always read the
content label very carefully. These are the common names of food
products you should be cautious when reading the label, as they contain
wheat and gluten inside it:
